what's it like getting a massage with a mask on?
"Massage with a mask really was no different from massage without a mask. I thought your provisions worked well with the sign-in station at the front door and the bottled water/wrapped mints offering in the room. I was comfortable with the whole experience."
"I just want to say, from someone who is pretty freaked out by all this, you guys really did a great job making me feel less anxious. Bill was wearing a double mask, which I thought was really great! I did not have any issues enjoying my massage with my mask on! Thanks for putting the work in to keep everyone safe in these unprecedented times!"
"I had no problem wearing a mask. Forgot that it was on to be honest. I feel pretty confident in your set up. Thanks for your effort to make us safe."
"Like everything else I've had to do for the first time with a mask (getting a coffee, a haircut, a pedicure) it was a little weird at first. But that weirdness went away quickly as soon as the treatment started. The benefits of having my first massage since February far outweigh the initial awkwardness. All your new additions, especially the air purifier, made me feel very comfortable. It felt nice to have this little piece of my regular life back."
"It was very hot laying on head support with a mask on but I liked the pillowcase workaround. It was still warm but I got used to it."
"Was not weird by today's standards. First, I felt safe. Intake was easy and posted cleaning before and after session was comforting to read – you guys are taking our health seriously. Massage with a mask on is a little claustrophobic, so I plan on back and shoulder work in future – only problem was conversation as with both of us wearing masks, lots of words were difficult to make out (at least to my old ears). Different experience, but my back hasn't felt this good since March. People should not be hesitant to come back. Already booked my next appointment."
"I felt so safe from the moment I stepped in. Being back in that beautiful, comforting space was lovely and the thoroughness of every safety precaution put me at ease right away. Wearing a mask did not take away from the massage experience at all! I honestly forgot about it as soon as my session started. I had so much tension in my body from these last months that I was just so grateful to be getting a massage. Thank you so much for everything you've done to make re-opening possible!"
"Wearing a mask is not a problem in my opinion if it helps to keep everyone safe. Once the massage begins and you relax, you kind of forget you even have it on."
"I actually decided to switch to the mask provided by WSW seeing that my mask is tied behind my head, and not an elastic behind the ears. It worked out fine with the mask on when I had to take deep slow breaths while Karon was applying deep pressure to sensitive areas. Overall I did not find the mask uncomfortable at all, I almost fell asleep at times like I usually do. Was it better without a mask in the pre-COVID-19 days? Of course, but it is not a deal breaker for me."
"My first experience post-pandemic was wonderful. You’re doing a fantastic job adapting. I found a masked massage no different than a regular massage. I wear a surgical mask which is light, comfortable and breathable so that certainly helps."
"I had my first treatment with Chasity today and it was so fantastic, and the new process so clear and professional, and felt very safe."
"I had been used to regularly scheduled massages every two weeks. Then the pandemic hit. After four months without therapeutic massages, my body was in need. My 90 minute massage on July 14th was so incredibly helpful. I didn’t mind wearing a mask throughout the session. It didn’t bother me at all. I just felt grateful to address my body’s needs after four months. The pandemic has been understandably restrictive, but we can now safely resume some important health needs like massage. I applaud WSW. They are allies to people of color, LGBTQIA and all oppressed populations. There is no other business that I appreciate more than West Side Wellness."
