it's all about you.
Your time on the table is yours to direct; as massage therapists, our job is to bear witness and hold space. Your feedback is always welcome, during a session or after it. It's how we know how we're doing. We mean it when we say we're here for ya!
before your session
Eat lightly, if at all. Hydrate well. Turn off your cell phone.
during your session
Your treatment happens in a warm, peaceful, private room. After we talk about how your body is doing and what type of treatment you prefer, your therapist leaves the room so that you may remove your garments, according to your comfort level. Do remove your jewelry and your watch. You’ll get cozy under the blanket and sheets on the warm massage table. During the session, you will always be covered with the sheet, except for the area being worked on.
Remember that you can tell your therapist at any time if anything is uncomfortable, or if you’d like more or less pressure. This time belongs to you.
after your session
Drink lots of water! Bodywork can release "toxins" (biochemical or emotional) from tissues: it brings up your shit. Drinking water helps flush these from the body. Give yourself some peaceful, quiet time after the session.
You may feel achy or sore later that day. Some people find that the positive effects of bodywork unfold in the body over a few days. Rest.
Come on back! The benefits of bodywork are cumulative. The more often you receive it, the better you will feel, and the faster your body will respond to the treatment. Treatment for chronic pain or injury recovery works best if it’s given in a series of sessions.
"Every person I've had the pleasure of getting a massage from here has been amazing. I always come with some weird problem and they just get right to the heart of it and work it the hell out."
